What Makes Windward So Unique?

Lake Windward – Lake Windward is a breathtaking 200-acre lake that serves as the centerpiece of the Windward community. It’s the largest community lake in the Atlanta area. Any time of year, you can find homeowners fishing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, or heading out for a boat ride. The private Windward Yacht Club connects Windward residents and hosts a number of gathering and events throughout the year. 

Windward Lake Club – Windward Lake Club is situated across 19-acres along the southwest edge of Lake Windward. The club features a world-class tennis center, with twenty lighted hard surface tennis courts, two clay courts, two platform courts, and six ten-years-old and under courts. The incredible tennis center staff oversees one of the largest instructional and social programs in the country for both adults and juniors. Windward Lake Club also features an expansive swim center complete with a 150-foot water slide, zero-depth entry children’s pool, splash pad, eight lane lap pool, and a diving well with two boards. Kids ages 5-18 are invited to participate in the Windward Waves swim and dive program. The Windward Waves compete in the North Fulton Swim Association and have been county swim champions many times. 

Golf Club of Georgia – The Golf Club of Georgia is one of the most renowned private golf clubs in the Southeast. Home to a pair of courses that are listed among Golf Digest’s “Top 20 Best Courses” in Georgia, the Golf Club of Georgia has won countless awards and has hosted an array of events, including PGA Champions tours, the historic Georgia cup, and U.S. Open qualifiers. 

Windward Sports ParkThe Windward Sports Park is a gathering place for kids of all ages. The playground, swings, and huge sand box area keep younger kids entertained for hours. Older kids (and grown ups!) love the basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball facilities. The Sports Park is the place to be for annual community events, like the 4th of July celebration, Labor Day fun, and Christmas celebrations. Windward residents can also rent the venue for personal gatherings.
